Sprucing Up Your Look

Improve The Appearance Of Acne Scars Using One Of These Simple Homemade Tricks

by Tammy Tucker

Acne scars are impossible to get rid of if you don't have the money to infest in chemical peels. Chemicals work by using alpha and beta hydroxy acids that remove scars by buffering thin layers of skin until your face looks as healthy as it did before you were plagued with acne. Luckily for you, there are several home ingredients that are full of alpha and beta hydroxy acids, which means you can make your own facial peels right at home. Below are just a few of the ingredients you can use to rid your face of acne scars, making your skin more healthy and glowing.

Yogurt And Cane Sugar

If you suffer from dry skin, then you will need to use an alpha hydroxy acid based facial peel because it will help moisturize your skin while helping to improve the appearance of acne scars. Yogurt and cane sugar are two of the most powerful ingredients you can use in order to make this type of peel. Yogurt is full of lactic acid, while cane sugar is a natural source of glycolic acid; both fall under the alpha hydroxy acid category.

This facial peel is very simple to make and use because all you need is one-eighth cup of plain yogurt and four tablespoons of cane sugar. Mix the two ingredients together until it forms a slightly rough paste. With clean fingertips, gently massage the concoction around your face and let it sit for ten minutes before rinsing the mixture away.

Lemon Juice And Aspirin

For those with oily skin types, you will need to use a beta hydroxy acid based skin peel because it will dissolve the oils in your skin while helping you get rid of acne scars. Aspirin is an excellent source of beta hydroxy acid because it's full of salicylic acid. Lemon juice is full of citric acid, which will exfoliate the skin while dissolving the powder from the aspirin.

To make this homemade skin peel, place two aspirins in a small bowl and pour two teaspoons of lemon juice over it. With a spoon, crush the aspirins and mix it into the lemon juice until it forms a paste. You can add more lemon juice as needed. When the two ingredients are completely mixed, apply it to your face and let it sit for fifteen minutes.

While the peel is sitting, mix some baking soda into warm water and stir until it is mixed completely. When the fifteen minutes is over, wash the peel away using a cloth soaked in the baking soda concoction. The baking soda will help to neutralize the acid in the lemon juice, making your skin look clearer and healthier.

You don't have to struggle with acne scars your entire life. There are simple ways to make facial peels right from home. Using one of the peels listed above, you can show your skin the love and attention that you both deserve. If these treatments don't work for you, contact a laser skin care center for help.
